Sun in Taurus: Luxurious
If Aries made us, Taurus asks: into what? Taurus translates life-force into form. It understands that divinity is encapsulated into the material — into the earth, the body, all things tangible.
As an archetype, Taurus is the height of spring, a time when birth abounds, abundant. It is the time of blooming flowers drinking golden sunshine, of lambs feasting on the greenest grass, of wooden tables weighted with wine and food. Taurus puts us in touch with earth’s bounty, our material abundance, our bodies, our taste buds, our fertility, and our sensuality. Everything is alive, and Taurus is here to enjoy it — to fix itself into states of pleasure, sometimes stubbornly so.
On the couch, in the bathtub, luxuriating in bed, Taurus can handle a stay-at-home order. Thankfully. With the Sun in Taurus, we can take this moment to witness beauty, to nourish ourselves with things that bring us comfort and pleasure, and feel all the sensations in our bodies. This season gives us permission to indulge, and maybe to excess; ice cream and Postmates may become essential. But that is what we are here for, now — to express gratitude for all that has been made material and all that supports the nourishment of our being.
